"Nobody does this for the money. It's nice getting paid for making music and it's a matter of respect to get paid for what we do, but the fact is we do this because we love it. I've been making music with Lee Patterson for over 30 years and when he put this band together, I thought NO WAY am I going to drive 2 hours a day to rehearse and 2 hours or more to gig when there are tons of musicians to work with here in Albany. But the fact is, Lee's band is the real deal. Its the authentic funk the way it was meant to be played, heard and danced to. You will never find a more dedicated group of musicians all striving to make the music right. We are truly a Band of Brothers and you can hear it every time we play" ---Stephen

WILLIE (GUS) NEAL
Willie (Gus) Neal is Lead singer and sax player for "Room Service". Gus has incredible tone on both of his instruments, providing the mellow and moving strains of an accomplished saxman as well as the strong and steady leading voice that any band needs. Check out his sax solo on Mr. Magic and you'll know what we mean. Gus is equally at home rendering a Luther Van Dross love song as he is with a Kool and the Gang dance tune; equally capable singing covers of Boz Skaags or Bruce Hornsby as he is singing an Earth Wind and Fire ballad. Gus brings that indefinable quality called soul to Room Service and makes it all shine.
Cliff Mathis, son of legendary drummer "Pops" Mathis, plays flute, percussion, and provides back-up vocals with "Room Service". Cliff started his music career in the late '70s with the well loved Hudson Valley Reggae band, "The Ulstafarians". Since then he has played with numerous other groups including "The Transnationals", "Day One", "Lee and the Funkmasters", and now with "Room Service". When Cliff is not shaking shakers or drumming drums, Cliff is talking about shaking shakers and drumming drums.
George Thomas is the drummer for Room Service. Since joining the band he has proven himself to be the funkiest, most soulful drummer the band has EVER seen, and that's saying a lot, especially for one so young. Drums are the foundation and without it, nothing else works. When you hear this band you can tell that George has it totally together.
Lisa Love is our newest member. An accomplished vocalist, pianist and songwriter, Lisa brings amazing virtuosity and talented harmonies to the mix. A veteran live performer for several Hudson Valley bands, Lisa is a familiar figure from Woodstock to NYC and beyond.
